Cathay Life Insurance Co., Ltd. is found to have the following deficiencies in its insurance business – FTP server for online planning and management operation was not placed as required; the speeds of vulnerability scan and security patch need to be improved; the company failed to patch major vulnerabilities published by network equipment manufacturer in a timely manner; the company in its personal data protection operation failed to include email address in the detection conditions for outward transmission of personal data which are adverse to preventing data leakage; its control design for solicitors to change data on mobile insurance APP was inadequate, which may impede sound operation of the company. Hence the FSC issues 4 official reprimands in accordance with Paragraph 1, Article 149 of the Insurance Act.
